Brain-Twitter Enables You To Send Messages Just By Thinking

Adam Wilson, a doctoral-program student of biomedichal engineering department at the University of Wisconsin developed a tool called Brain-Twitter that allows Twitter's members to post messages through the electrical stimulus generated by the power of mind.

Brain-Twitter application replaces the role of keyboard for typing messages. With a red hat containing an electrode and functions to monitor brain activity to be translated to text. What is in the brain will be then delivered directly to your computer and written on the screen.

"The development of this device can be used to help the people with "locked-in syndrome", where they generally have a normal brain but they can not speak or move due to illness or injury," said Wilson, as quoted by CNN, Friday (24 / 4 / 2009).

The idea to create this came out when a listener at a radio station put forward a statement that it will be very exciting if Twitter's users can send messages only by thinking. Wilson quickly invited his colleagues, Justin Williams to bring this breakthrough into reality.

But Williams doesn't know yet when this invention can be marketed specifically for people with locked-in syndrome. He only said  very happy and proud of this invention.
