Apple Recorded Increase In Third Quarter Profit

Technology giant from the United States, Apple, managed to get out from recession with recorded profit increase due to strong demand iPhones, laptops, and desktop computers.

In the last three months ended 26 September 2009, Apple recorded net profit of US$ 1.67 billion or up 47% from the same period in the previous year. The increase was leveraged by increasing sales by 25% which is US$ 9.87 billion.

The increase in sales came from rising sales of computers by 17% and iPhone sales up to 7%. Only sales of iPod sales declined by 8%. Apple shares which are based in California was closed at the level of US$ 189.86 in the Nasdaq index.

Steve Jobs, Apple's chief executive, admitted surprised to see the sales of Macintosh computers and the iPhone which may have been sold more than the previous quarter. According to Steve, in the this third quarter, the company sold 3.1 million computers, 19% increase from the same period last year.

Analysts said the cuts of phone prices have helped increase Apple's iPhone sales in the this third quarter. "The launch of the latest operating system named Snow Leopard, also encouraged the sale of Apple computers," said Dan Akerman, Senior Editor at CNET.com.

Meanwhile, Jane Snorek, analyst at First American Funds describes, Achieved Apple's performance this quarter is the biggest achievement and a good sign for Apple's sales in the coming months. "This makes me think Apple will celebrate Christmas Day remarkable," said Jane.
