Seven “Bold” Predictions for Display Ads in 2015

Speaking as part of Advertising Week in Toronto, Google’s managing director, media and platforms, Americas Barry Salzman spelled out seven “bold” predictions for display ads which the company believes will come true by 2015.

#1: 50% of display ads will include cost per view video
-With 35 hours of video uploaded to YouTube every minute, video is an undeniable part of the consumer experience online, says Salzman. Advertisers need to be in this space, says Google and should only pay for video that is being watched.

Google may be regarded as the king of search engine. AdSense and AdWords advertising system are also very successful in the world of online advertising.

Other Google products that enjoy the 'top success', are Gmail, Google Talk and Google Maps. There is also some successful acquisitions by Google, this includes video sharing site YouTube, Blogger, and  mobile operating system Android.

New Themes For Your Chrome

If you are Google Chrome users now you can download and use new themes for the browser.

When it is first time launched, It has 29e existing template themes in which we may choose on http://tools.google.com/chrome/intl/en/index.html. Google promised to add the number of its themes. Chrome browser that can implement this new theme is version 3.0.195.3.

According to Net Applications report, Chrome now holds 2.6 percent of the global browser market. Chrome perched in fourth place after the Safari (4 percent), Firefox (22.5 percent), and Internet Explorer (67.7 percent).

GOOGLE GEAR SUPPORTS FIREFOX 3.5

Firefox 3.5 browser users can now re-use the Google Gear's add-on on the latest browser.

Just by updating Google Gear to version 0.5.29.0.

Firefox 3.5 users will have been able to open Gmail or access WordPress by Turbo's facility offline.

Google's on Fire

The fire that occurred in the British headquarters of Google spread to Twitter directly. Some people began to spread the fire at the site mikroblogging.

"Google UK On Fire, Let's hope no one gets hurt," it's one written tweet Twitter user named selvakumariniya.

Similar pitched tweet posted by many other Twitter users. "Google's on fire! I was there only three weeks ago and two of our team were there today! Hmmm ... coincidence??!"

There is also humor tweet like, "I hope google has a firewall, because they're on fire right now.

Fire incident was reportedly sparked by a barbecue party held by the employee.

There is no loss of life confirmed in the fire

Amazon, Microsoft, and Yahoo Versus Google

Three leading technology companies make a joint-effort to fight against Google that is going to create a biggest virtual library in the world. Amazon, Microsoft, and Yahoo will sign an Open Book Alliance pioneered by the Internet Archive.

They oppose provisions of law that can make Google as the main source in most online activities. "Google attempts to make a library-system-monopoly," said the founder of Internet Archive, Brewster Kahle, to BBC News television station , Friday 21 August 2009.

Gmail Gets Top 3

Although still in a beta version, Gmail is able to show very good performance. The email service owned by Google is able to penetrate the top 3 position in the United States.

Latest position in July, issued in the US. by ComScore, Google takes third position with a number of unique visitor up to 37 million. By that number, it replaced the position of AOL, which only accounted for 36.4 million.

After grabbing the third position, Gmail has another ambition, that is replacing the Windows Live Hotmail, which currently is in second place. ComScore said Hotmail successfully has 47 million unique visitors in the US.

However, the achievement of Gmail has been very great in the last July. ComScore noted, until July Gmail has a fantastic growth of 25 percent and defeated AOL which had fallen to 22 percent.

Can Wolfram Alpha Kill Google?

Google's dominance in the segment of the search engine is not shaken yet even though the competitors continue to roll out. Now a scientist from the UK is trying his luck to bring a new search engine which is hope to conquera Google. 

Professor Stephen Wolfram, founder of software company, Wolfram Research Wolfram, creates a site named Wolfram Alpha which will be coming soon. Wolfram Alpha presents a new paradigm in online search. 

As Quoted from Vnunet, Tuesday (03/10/2009), search engines such as Google or Yahoo go through billions of web pages to find answers that approximately match the users' request. 

That is in contrast to Wolfram Alpha  that is able to exactly answer questions submitted by users. 

For example if the user asks the question 'Why is the sky blue? " or 'How many bones in the human body', Alpha Wolfram claims to ansewer  accurately. 

If there is no obstacle, Wolfram Alpha will be launched in May 2009. Can this search engine conquer Google, or otherwise collapse? Time will tell.
